The Australian health + supplements B2C pattern.

By Adam Ducquet · 8 June 2026 · 2 min read

Health + supplements B2C sits at the intersection of consumer B2C and healthcare-adjacent. Rose-Hip Vital (joint health), NG Mobility (mobility products) are the worked examples. The B2C playbook applies, but the claim-review pipeline runs at AHPRA-adjacent standards because the products make health claims.

Five health-B2C-specific disciplines

1. AHPRA-adjacent claim review

Health-claim products (joint-health supplements, mobility-aid products, wellness products) make claims that brush against AHPRA + therapeutic-goods advertising standards. Claim-review pipeline at AHPRA-aligned discipline level, even for brands not technically AHPRA-regulated. Brand protection + regulatory exposure mitigation.

2. Patient-aware buyer journey

Buyers are typically patients managing chronic conditions or carers buying for patients. Buyer journey design respects patient experience, calm tone, hopeful but not promissory, clinical-information depth, evidence-led product positioning. Different from generic B2C tone.

3. GP-referrer integration where applicable

For supplements + mobility products that doctors recommend to patients, GP-referrer programme as secondary marketing layer. CPD-style content for referring GPs, MIMS-aligned product information, GP-portal feature awareness.

4. Subscription + replenishment mechanics

Health supplements have natural replenishment cadence. Shopify subscription apps (Recharge primarily), Klaviyo subscription-onboarding + retention flows. Subscription as the dominant revenue model, not one-off purchase.

5. Healthcare-aware Meta navigation

Meta's healthcare policy (special-ad-category, mental-health-specific restrictions) applies to health-claim products. Account-disable risk needs active management. Compliance-aware account-management discipline that generic B2C paid-media managers don't have.

Two worked patterns

  • Rose-Hip Vital, Shopify joint-health B2C. Healthcare-grade claim discipline, Klaviyo subscription flows, AHPRA-aligned compliance posture.
  • NG Mobility, Shopify mobility ecom. Patient + carer + OT-referrer audiences. Healthcare-adjacent buyer journey, blended ecom + clinical content.
