The questions buyers actually ask.
Across pricing, retainer shapes, ad spend transparency, AI governance, healthcare AHPRA compliance, industrial procurement, and ecommerce platform decisions. Answered as we'd answer them on the phone.
Pricing & commercials
What's the minimum monthly engagement?
Capped retainers, scaled to the engagement. Founder-led consumer / B2C brands and single-clinic healthcare practices start lean; PE-portfolio and multi-brand FMCG engagements scale by scope. We share specifics on a scoping call.
Do you mark up Meta or Google ad spend?
No. Ad spend is at cost. Your Meta or Google invoice is your Meta or Google invoice, pass-through, never marked up. Our management fee is a separate, named line on every invoice, agreed up front before the engagement starts and never buried in the media bill.
What about contract lock-ins?
Every retainer is month-to-month. No 12-month contracts, no exit fees, no clawbacks. You stay because we earn it month after month. The 47-month average tenure across our material engagements is the result, not the cause, of this commitment.
Do you take percentage-of-revenue performance fees?
Generally no. We've seen percentage-of-revenue fee structures create perverse incentives, agency optimises for top-line growth even where margin economics don't justify it. We prefer flat retainer structures with transparent management fees on ad spend at cost.
AI & production stack
Is the AI doing client work?
Yes, and it's reviewed by a senior strategist before it ships. AI is the production multiplier. Imagen drafts ad creative variants. Gemini drafts long-form content. Veo 3 produces short-form video. Vertex AI runs analytics pipelines. BigQuery + Looker handle portfolio reporting. Every output that affects, refers to, or could be seen by a person passes a human review gate.
Do you train AI on our brand assets?
Yes, in our private Vertex AI environment, scoped per engagement. Brand-trained Imagen models are isolated per client. We do not pool client data across accounts for training. We do not use client-confidential data on general-purpose AI models. See our AI Governance Policy for the full operational detail.
Where does our data live?
Production AI processing occurs in australia-southeast1 (Vertex AI, Gemini regional endpoints, BigQuery datasets) where the platform supports it. Customer-facing client websites are Australian-hosted (Kinsta, Cloudways) or on Cloudflare's Australian edge. See Security & Data for the full vendor due-diligence summary.
Healthcare-specific
Is AHPRA compliance built into the workflow?
Yes, for every healthcare client. AHPRA review on every patient-facing creative output before it ships. Built into the production pipeline, not bolted on. Same standard whether it's Adora Fertility, Partnered Health, or a single-clinician specialist practice.
Do you handle patient data?
Patient personal information is excluded from AI processing at the boundary level. For engagements involving pathology data, patient-record data, or clinical encounter data, we operate under a separate written data handling protocol agreed with the client compliance officer.
Can you run multi-clinic GBP at our scale?
Yes. We run multi-location GBP for 60+ clinics across the Partnered Health portfolio. Citation hygiene, location-page architecture, review acquisition pipelines per clinic per brand.
Industrial B2B-specific
Can you design a tier-1 panel-pursuit capability statement?
Yes, it's our specialist capability. Eight-section structure with pages 1-4 doing all the work, evidence-led, project-led, certification-led. Berg Engineering's redesign won panel positions inside six months. Engagement shapes range from a focused refresh to a full pursuit pack with website rebuild.
Is LinkedIn paid actually a flagship channel for you?
Yes. For our 35 industrial B2B clients (21 of them WA-based), LinkedIn is the dominant content distribution channel. Personal-profile cadence, Sponsored InMail, Conversation Ads, LinkedIn Newsletter, all run with the same discipline most agencies reserve for Meta.
Can you run recruitment marketing alongside the procurement marketing?
Yes, and we typically do. Mining services, drilling, and engineering firms grow on supply (engineers, drillers, tradies). SEEK, Indeed, LinkedIn Recruiter run as paired recruitment marketing programmes alongside the panel-pursuit programme.
Consumer-specific
Are you a Shopify Partner?
Yes. We're a Shopify Partner agency, and we run client stores on Standard, Plus, and Markets. We don't pretend Shopify is the right answer for every brand though; for a number of our clients, WooCommerce is genuinely the better fit and we'll tell you that directly.
Why do you have more WooCommerce brands than Shopify brands?
Two reasons. (1) Many of our consumer clients came to us with existing WordPress / WooCommerce stacks where a re-platform wasn't justifiable. (2) For mid-market Australian brands with complex catalogues or B2B-wholesale arms, WooCommerce + B2B for WooCommerce is often more cost-effective than Shopify Plus. We're agnostic on platform, we're not agnostic on the work.
Can you take over our existing Klaviyo account?
Yes. Roughly half our consumer engagements start with a Klaviyo audit, accounts already running but under-optimised, with broken flows, untriggered segments, or unattributed revenue. We typically have historically lifted Klaviyo-attributed revenue materially within the first 90 days. Free 30-min Klaviyo audit available.
What if we have a wholesale arm too?
We've shipped B2B wholesale portals on both Shopify (B2B with Shopify, company accounts, tiered pricing) and WooCommerce (B2B for WooCommerce, Wholesale Suite). Roughly 25% of our consumer-book revenue comes from hybrid B2C-with-wholesale brands like Bujairami, RG Enterprises, Paint Pinot, and Gillie and Marc.
Process & operations
How fast does an engagement actually start?
Day 0 to Day 30. See the day-by-day breakdown. First call → scoping → SOW → kick-off → first 30 days of working delivery, all inside one calendar month.
What's the reporting cadence?
Three layers. Weekly: async Notion-based delivery cadence (15 min to read). Monthly: 60-min senior-strategist review with KPI walk-through and 30/60/90 horizon planning. Quarterly: portfolio CEO + investment committee review for PE-portfolio engagements only. Full reporting cadence detail.
Who actually does the work?
The senior strategist who scoped the engagement leads the engagement. Underneath, the integrated team, paid media specialist, content lead, designer, dev, works on the brief. No bait-and-switch with junior teams after the contract signs.
